The Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana during her 2023-2024 budget speech.This scheme, also referred as “PM Vikas Yojana” or “PM Vishwakarma Scheme” or “Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana,” received approval for implementation during a Union Cabinet meeting on August 16, 2023.The Union Cabinet has decided to launched the PM Vishwakarma Yojana on 17 September , 2023 all over the India.On this date, we celebrate both the birthday of our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, and Vishwakarma Jayanti.TPm he main objective of the PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana is to provide assistance to traditional craftsmen and artisans, thereby promoting the expansion of their businesses.
PM Vishwakarma Yojana
The Government of India has allocated a budget of 13,000 crores for the effective implementation of PM Vishwakarma Yojana.Under this scheme, eligible craftsmen and artisans can avail loans of up to Rs 1 lakh at a 5 percent interest rate. If the beneficiary repays the loan within the specified period, they are eligible for a subsequent loan of up to Rs 2 lakh under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, also at a 5 percent interest rate.Additionally, craftsmen and artisans interested in skill enhancement will receive training under the PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana. During the skill training program, selected beneficiaries will receive a stipend of 500 rupees per day.To further support their craft, craftsmen and artisans will receive 15,000 rupees under the PM Vikas Yojana to purchase advanced tools.Moreover, the Government of India will issue PM Vishwakarma certificates and identity cards to the beneficiaries.

Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana
The following benefits will be provided to traditional craftsmen and artisans under PM Vishwakarma Yojana:-
- The PM Vishwakarma Yojana extends its benefits to over 30 lakh families representing more than 164 castes.
- This scheme includes 18 traditional occupations.
- Loan up to Rs. 1 lakh at 5 percent interest rate in the first phase.
- Loan up to Rs. 2 lakh in the second phase at 5 percent interest rate.
- Skill training opportunities will be provided.
- A daily stipend of Rs. 500/- during skill training.
- Financial support of 15,000/- for the acquisition of advanced tools.
- The applicant will also receive the PM Vishwakarma Certificate and Identity Card.
