The Gruha Lakshmi scheme, dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering women in Karnataka, it’s going to be start in Mysuru City on Wednesday, August 30th 2023. On the very same day, the bank will also start the process of transferring funds to the beneficiaries’ accounts.

The Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge, along with Rahul Gandhi, will participate in the launch event as members of Parliament. Approximately 12.8 million female heads of households in Karnataka are expected to receive annual financial support, directly deposited into their bank accounts. The primary goal of this scheme is to empower families and it is a part of the government’s broader guarantee which includes Shakti, Anna Bhagya, and Gruha Jyothi.

It is Anticipated to draw around one lakh attendees, the launch event will cover the  beneficiaries in Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu district.This scheme is also set to be introduced in the districts like  Belagavi.

Gruha Lakshmi Yojana

The Gruha Lakshmi Yojana provides a monthly allowance of Rs 2,000 to female heads of eligible households, the state of Karnataka committing a substantial annual budget of Rs 32,000 crore to support this scheme .This scheme will provide the financial assistance to lakhs of women in the state, helping them to meet their basic needs and improve their living standards.

The scheme is also expected to boost women’s economic participation and contribute to the overall development of Karnataka household.This scheme will provide financial assistance to approximately 1,20 crore women in the state.

Objectives of Gruha Lakshmi Yojana

• The program aims to provide financial assistance to empower women to enhance their family’s income and improve their overall financial well-being.

• By acknowledging and rewarding the valuable contributions of housewives, the program offers them financial support.

• The program’s objective is to eliminate poverty by offering financial aid to families facing economic challenges.

Eligibility for Gruha Lakshmi yojana

• The applicant must be a woman and the applicant has to be a Karnataka resident .
• The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme provides benefits to women who are designated as the primary heads of households on Antyodaya, Below Poverty Line (BPL), and Above Poverty Line (APL) ration cards. 
• Only one woman in a family can take the benefits of this scheme.
• Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration cards are allocated to households identified by state governments, granting each family 35kg of food grains per month. 
•  The family income of the applicant must not be more than Rs. 2 lakhs.
• The applicant cannot own any land.
• The women who are government employees, taxpayers, or have family heads (husbands) paying income tax or filing GST returns are ineligible for this scheme.

• From the homepage, locate and select the “Gruha Lakshmi Scheme” option.
• This selection will open a new registration page on your screen.
• Proceed by entering your registration details into the application form.
• After successfully completing the registration, log in using the provided details, and proceed to apply for the scheme.

Steps to apply offline

The procedure for applying offline for the Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme:

• Download the application form of the Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme.
• Print out the downloaded application form.
• Fill all the necessary information on the form, including personal details, bank information, and other required details.
• Attach all the necessary documents as specified in the application form.
