If you use between 150 to 300 units, you can get Rs 60,000 to Rs 78,000 per kilowatt for panels between 2 to 3 kilowatts. If you use more than 300 units, you’ll get a flat subsidy of Rs 78,000 per kilowatt for panels bigger than 3 kilowatts.

During the final budget presentation on February 1, 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a plan for rooftop solar panels and free electricity. 2.Click on “Apply for Rooftop Solar” on the homepage.

3. Enter your details in two steps: select your state, district, electricity Distribution company, and Consumer account number.

4. Click “Next” and fill out the registration form with your information.

5. Upload the necessary documents.

6. Click “Submit” to finish the apapplication

7.Log in using your consumer number and mobile number. Then, fill out the form to apply for rooftop solar.

8.If all your information is correct, the power company will check if it’s possible to install solar panels on your roof. Wait for their approval. Once you have it, hire one of the approved vendors to install the solar panels.

9.After the panels are installed, give the details to the power company and apply for a net meter.

10.When the net meter is installed and the power company checks everything, they’ll give you a certificate saying the system is working.

11.Once you have the certificate, provide your bank details and a canceled cheque on their website. You’ll get your subsidy money in your bank account within 30 days.
